On Thursday, 20th March 2025, our students took part in an exciting debate competition on the topic: “Is childhood more fun than adulthood?” The debate featured two enthusiastic teams. Team A (Aris, Stergios, Catherine, Alexandra, and Maria) argued that childhood is more fun, while Team B (Nora, Lena, Marina, Nick, Orestis, and Elena) defended the idea that adulthood has more to offer.
Both teams presented strong arguments, using examples, humour, and clear speaking to support their points. Team A highlighted the joy of being carefree, imaginative, and full of energy. Team B impressed the audience with ideas about freedom, independence, and following your dreams. The discussion was lively, respectful, and full of great ideas.
This debate was not just fun—it was also an excellent opportunity for our learners to build public speaking skills, such as:
-
Organising their thoughts clearly
-
Speaking with confidence in front of others
-
Listening and responding to different opinions
Activities like this help students become better communicators and more confident speakers, both in English and in life.
Congratulations to all our young debaters for a wonderful performance!
